As the 39th Latina Management professor in the U.S., Dr. Lebron was interviewed by Gwen Moran forFast Company  and how the PhD Project was pivotal in her success.

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) Ideas to Innovation Challenge asked people all over the world to answer the question, “What one idea would improve graduate management education? The contest was organized by GMAC’s Management Education for Tomorrow (MET) Fund, a $10 million fund to improve management education.  People from 60 countries submitted 600 entries.

Lebrón’s Winning Idea:  World Focus on Integrity Innovation (WFII), an interdisciplinary course that examines innovation, managerial decisions, firm and social consequences surrounding real-world events, such as the financial crisis, environmental disasters, water and food shortages, war, health problems, and corruption.

“This course impacts globally because it teaches in words and actions an interdisciplinary way of thinking and problem-solving by examining decisions and global consequences. More importantly, it challenges us [to understand] that integrity and innovation go hand in hand.” – Dr. Mariana J. Lebrón

Dr. Lebron joins the PhD Project in meeting with representatives from the U.S. Department of Education, the White House Initiative for Excellence in Higher Education for Hispanics,  Native Americans, and African Americans in discussing issues impacting the recruitment and retention of diverse faculty and students.
